National PRRT Therapist, Recognized as Top 1% PRRT in the US. Primal Reflex Release Technique, Alternative Pain Relief Technique by Certified Practitioner. Primal Reflex Release Technique, or PRRT, is a new physical therapy treatment method for treating pain conditions. Since incorporating it into my practice about a year ago, I have found that PRRT produces better results than other physical therapy techniques when treating Fibromyalgia (FM). While PRRT does not work for everyone, I have found it produces dramatic results in about 60 percent of my FM patients. Primal Reflex Release Technique (PRRT) is a new treatment approach in the field of pain treatment and management that has the potential to radically alter the influence of the physical therapist in the health care model. PRRT will create the next paradigm shift in physical therapy. Convinced that slumped posture led to pain, one PT created a system allowing patients to increase spinal mobility, pioneered an effective therapy technique focusing on reflexes. Seven Secrets to Painfree Living. With nothing more invasive than his fingertips, and a miniature rubber hammer, Scott Musgrave embarks on a dailv pain-relief mission. His strategy: literally tapping into the body's innate ability to heal itself. In much the same way physicians test reflexes to see if the nerves are carrying messages from the brain to the body, Musgrave is trying to alleviate pain by relaxing contracted muscles. The key is not so much in the touch as understanding the anatomy and its complex circuitry well enough to pinpoint the source of pain. But even Musgrave, a physical therapist for more than 15 years, concedes that reflexes are hooked together in a way that we still don't fully understand. Often, patients have found, the reflex response he elicits in muscles and tendons can restore normal blood flow and hasten revolutionary healing.
